Copper foil is the most popular of the stained glass classes offered at Studio du Verre. With this method, you can make stained glass windows, sun catchers, pendants, and Tiffany-style lamps. You can also make other 3-dimensional objects such as boxes or terrariums.

In the Copper Foil course, you will make a stained glass panel (about 8" by 10") with your teacher, using the Tiffany copper foil technique. You will learn how to trace your glass, as well as how to cut, grind, solder, and patina your project.

In the Lead Came course, you will learn how to assemble a panel using lead came, and how to solder and clean your panel like a professional. Additional complexity can be introduced for intermediate learners. There is a growing demand for lead classes. Leaded windows are constructed using the traditional method. In fact, most of the historic homes and buildings in Montreal use this technique. This is the method our studio uses in its own creations, and in restoration projects.

Patterns, tools, and materials are provided.
