GOOD NEWS, LEAD, FUSION AND MOSAIC CLASSES ARE BACK!
Studio du Verre offers a full range of stained glass classes of between 5 to 6 students where you may learn the different methods of doing stained glass. We have classes for beginner's copper foil, lead came, glass fusion, and also a mosaics class. More advanced techniques can be learned in a private tutoring class, which can be adapted to each student's specific needs.
MOSAICS WITH SUSAN SEMENAK
We have been admiring Susan's amazing and clever mosaic art for the last few years. Her use of found objects such as broken china plates, pebbles and the like, along with interesting stained glass elements make for wonderful mosaic art.

In this course, you will learn how to assemble a panel using lead came and how to solder and clean your panel like a professional.

FUSION AND SLUMPING WEEKEND
$169 + $30 for material for kiln use + taxes
SATURDAY - 10:00 am to 3:00 pm and
SUNDAY - 11:00 am to 1:00 pm
January 20 & 21 New Date!
Glass slumping is when art glass is placed over a glass mold and placed in a kiln. When the temperature is hot enough, the glass will soften and then 'slump' into the mold. Choosing from a variety of molds - bowls, square dishes, sushi dishware etc - students will design their project. After adding cut glass choices, glass frit, and stringer embellishments, students will prep the piece for a flat firing. Day 1 ends with pieces being placed in the kiln for firing overnight. On Day 2, students excitedly remove creations from the kiln. There follows a discussion of how and why the glass fired as it did. Day 2 ends with glass pieces being placed on their respective molds and set in the kiln for the final slumping firing. Finished pieces can be picked up at our studios the following week or be sent by parcel post for those students who have come some distance for this class.
