Using examples from our racks and showroom, Anne will explain the
properties of different kinds of glass. This experienced artisan
will share her knowledge of how to use a variety of glass: opals,
cathedrals, streakies, valuable flashed antiques and even irridized glass;
to make the most interesting and dramatic windows and lamps possible.

Stephane will be the master of ceremonies in this most useful of seminars.
Who hasn’t had a heat or stress crack in their almost finished masterpiece
and then hesitate to do the necessary repair. In our upstairs studio, Stephane
is the go-to-guy for all repairs. In this seminar he will reveal the secrets of
the trade. When you know how, these unsightly cracks can be repaired quickly and efficiently.
This is a very entertaining seminar from the whiz guy of repairs.

Make a leaded panel using one of our ready to assemble bevel packages.
No previous stained glass experience needed (no glass cutting).
Emphasis will be put on leading techniques, soldering, puttying and final cleaning.

From 1pm to 4pm - $39 plus materials ($15 to $30)
Learn what the fuss is all about in this mini class. Cook up a wonderful window
charmer in just a few hours. Playing with frit and stringers, powders etc,
you will make a creative objet d'art. Be the envy of the neighbourhood by
expanding your stained glass horizons. Materials extra ($15-$30).

A panel lamp is usually 4, 6 or 8 sided. Larger panel lamps may have even more sides.
Some are quite plain, letting the art glass get all the attention and some have elaborate
decoration and detailing. Everything you need to know about getting started with panel lamps
will be discussed. Michel will take the group through all the steps in making these lamps.
Assembly, vase caps, finishing and patina techniques will be covered. The aim of the seminar
is to give students the knowledge and confidence to build a panel lamp without supervision.
