Beginner starter classes

Beginners Copper Foil (Tiffany Technique)

In this course you will make a stained glass panel (about 8" by 10") while mastering the art of cutting glass, soldering techniques and finishing patinas. Each student will receive a carbide cutter. All materials are included and all tools are provided.

Beginners and Intermediate Lead Came

Beginners: 12 hours – $139 + taxes – materials included
Intermediate: 12 hours - $119 + taxes - materials extra and complementary glass cutter not included
Please note, intermediate students must discus their projects with the teacher
before the 1st class.

In this course you will make a stained glass panel (10" by 12") using lead came. This is the more traditional technique. Learn to cut glass, solder etc. A quality carbide cutter and all materials are included. (Intermediate $119, materials and cutter not included)

Copper Foil

Create the panel of your dreams with Michel in 6 amazing classes. This is the perfect cours for those who are looking to deepen their knowledge of the copperfoil technique. As prerequisites, you must be equiped to work at home and have followed a copperfoil cours. Choose from teacher approved paterns or bringin your own design (some size restrictions will apply).
(Materials extra. Bring your tools(not optional!).)

Lead came

Lead Came Bevel Panel

7 hours – $69 + taxes – materials extra ($10 - $15)

Lead came is becoming more and more popular as traditional windows are increasingly in vogue. Make a leaded panel using one of our ready to assemble bevel packages. No previous stained glass experience needed. Emphasis will be put on leading techniques, soldering, puttying and final cleaning. Lead came is considered the professional technique and is the method most accepted by architects.
(NB. Pre-requisites: NONE!)

Lead 2 Day

11 hours – $119 + taxes – materials extra
One weekend. Saturday from 10:00 to 4:00
and Sunday from 11:00 to 4:00
January 14/15, February 25/26

During this stimulating course you will build a 12’’x 18’’ stained glass window choosing from traditional or contemporary designs of various calibers of difficulty.
(NB Pre-requisites: cutting glass, having completed a copper foil and/or a lead came class)

Fusion

Fusion in the Afternoon

3 hours - $39 + taxes - materials extra ($10-$30)

Learn what the fuss is all about in this mini class. Cook up a wonderful window charmer in just a few hours. Playing with frit and stringers, powders etc, you will make a creative objet d'art. Be the envy of the neighbourhood by expanding your stained glass horizons. Materials extra ($15-$30).

Fusion and Kiln Forming

12 hours – $149 + taxes – materials extra ($25-$40)
One weekend. Saturday from 10:00 to 4:00 Sunday from 11:00 to 4:00
January 28/29

John has been teaching this challenging class for several years now. For 2 full days you will be taught the whys and what fors of fusing. Start with fusing a test strip. Explore the possibilities and combinations of frit powders and frit granules, noodles and stringers to fire up a fused panel. End the weekend by slumping the creation into a dish mold. Materials extra ($25-$40).

Michel and Suzanne Painchaud’s Tiffany Saturdays

8 classes - 24 hours - $199 + taxes - Material exta - for not one but 2 teachers!

Feb. 4 & 25, Mar 3, 17 & 31, April 15 & 28 and May 12th

Michel and Suzanne will be offering their Tiffany making on a Worden form class on Saturday morning. This class can be very popular and last winter the class was full before we advertised it! Most students will complete their tiffany lamp before the end of the course. Be sure to register early as this one will fill up fast.

Join with Pierre and make an heirloom Tiffany Lamp using the Odyssey System. Pierre puts alot of emphasis on design and colour selection using the most beautiful glass we carry. The first two classes will be in developing your design and choosing colours. The results will inspire you to new heights of glass excellence.

What a great use for those nice little scraps you've been saving!! Create a mosaic masterpiece in a day! Glass on wood and glass on glass. Glue not included ($5-$10).

Glass Painting Weekends

10 hours – $139 + taxes – material included
Saturday and Sunday from 11:00 to 4:00
February 11/12, March 31& April 1

Learn about painting on glass while painting a botanical reproduction or a medieval face. Begin with contour lines and then fire in our glass kiln. Learn to apply grisaille and with a variety of brush and stippling techniques add depth and shading. Add a dash of silver yellow for effect. Fire a final time and your masterpiece is complete. Materials included.

Beadmaking with Suzanne and Michel Painchaud

4 hours - 109$ + taxes
One day from 11:00am to 3:00pm

Spend 4 fun hours heating and manipulating glass, ex-ploring the new world of beads. For anyone fascinated by glass especially moltenglass. Hot head torches will be used. All materials included. Maximum 4 people per course!
